Development Agencies and NGOS
KWFT recently signed USD 5.5M risk sharing agreement with Africa Guarantee Fund. The funds are to be used to expand lending to women-led or women-owned small and medium enterprises in Kenya. Under the deal, up to USD 22.9M in financing will be unlocked for more than 1,000 women SMEs in the country.
KWFT also will benefit from a Capacity Development Grant support of USD 330,685 to support in enhancing the credit & debt recovery policy, enhancing business process & automation, staff training, financial literacy training for 1000 KWFT WSME’s as well as enhancing the green portfolio at KWFT.

East African Development Bank (EADB)

KWFT received a Grant Support from FSD – Kenya to support on:
- KWFT to enhance MIS System to support in data capturing and analytics on the micro housing portfolio and geotagging of customer location – Kshs 14.6 Million
- Development of KWFT ESG Policy & Strategy- Kshs 6 Million
- Support on Risk Based Lending – Kshs 2 Million
KWFT partnered with JASIRI Fund Consortium with the aim of supporting the 1000 women survivors of gender-based violence in 9 Kenya counties namely; Busia, Kajiado, Kakamega, Kilifi, Kwale, Kiambu, Mombasa, Nairobi and Tana River.
- Grant received Ksh 35 million to be used as credit guarantee
- 758 women benefited from KWFT business loans worth Kshs 55.08 Million from June 2021- May 2023
- Total loans booked as at 30th June 2023 were 878 loans.

To support achievement of SDG 11, KWFT received Technical Assistance in research and product development of Nyumba Smart ( Housing Microfinance ) from Habitat for Humanity.

In May 2024, 11 family owned agri business ventures (whose founders are KWFT customers) were trained at Strathmore Business School on Governance and Succession Planning. The main aim of the training is to sustain family-owned agri-businesses through generations as well as improve their investability.
The total participants from KWFT were 30 anchored within 11 family-owned Businesses. 6 Mentorship sessions began in April 2024 and will end in 6 months where the participants will graduate from the Program.

Within this Partnership, KWFT designed a business loan product to support small and micro entrepreneurs whose businesses had been affected by the Covid – 19 pandemic.
As at end of June 2021 – 810 women entrepreneurs were able to resuscitate their business with funds worth Kshs 8 Million
Palladium –The Feed the Future Kenya Investment Mechanism (KIM) Program was a Results Based Financing (RBF) partnership project aimed at encouraging KWFT to lend to small holder farmers in 17 counties located in the marginalized areas.

Mediae–Grant Support on content creation on Shamba Shape –Up KWFT featured in 36 episodes of shamba shape up to educate viewers on agri business financing options at KWFT as well as providing financing tips.
The episodes were funded by a grant worth USD 126,000 (Kshs 13,870,080)

KWFT collaborates with Infobip to leverage its advanced communication innovations for client engagement. Through Infobip, KWFT provides timely updates and alerts to its customers, improving service delivery streamlined and secure communications forms with clients.
KWFT integrates RapidVets to provide veterinary services to women entrepreneurs involved in livestock farming. RapidVets offers KWFT’s clients access to affordable and quality veterinary care, enhancing their livestock productivity which in turn empowers women by improving their income.
Through its collaboration with iBuild’s digital platform, KWFT collects comprehensive social impact data to monitor the effectiveness of its product offerings. By analyzing financial and non-financial data from various geographical locations, KWFT gains valuable insights into market needs. This data-driven approach enables KWFT to refine and tailor its products to better meet the specific requirements of its diverse customer base.
