The Nairobi International Trade Fair took place from 2nd October to Sunday 8th October 2017, at Jamhuri Park/Showground. The 7 day event offered great opportunities for regional, continental and global exhibitors to display and demonstrate their products and services. It also gave the visitors a platform to meet people from different countries and backgrounds, hence creating avenues for interaction and exchange of ideas and experiences.

KWFT had an outstanding stand which displayed various products and services in line with the show theme “Promoting Innovation And Technology In Agriculture And Trade.” The Institutions’ stand attracted a huge number of people attending the show who expressed interest in the diverse products and services offered by the Institution especially the ones on display which included: Home improvement portfolio which incorporates the micro housing, cooking, lighting and water storage solutions, we also had affordable agri-assets solutions and a live demo farm. Being a unique microfinance Bank, KWFT also carried out live transactions which included Agency banking and M-Pesa services.

The KWFT team at the showground were privileged to host the Operations Director Mr. Anthony Chege on Monday, who was delighted to host the Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe. The Deputy Governor was taken round the KWFT stand by the Operations Director who applauded the Institutions milestones and its impact to the Nation.

On Tuesday we also pleased to host our very own Board Member Ms. Zipporah Mogaka who was also very impressed with the stand and the teams’ efforts in outreach activities to clients and potential clients as well as positioning the Institution. On Wednesday, KWFT’s Managing Director Mr. Mwangi Githaiga also visited the show and was hosted by the amazing team on the ground. Mr. Mwangi also had an opportunity to pay courtesy calls to various stands which included Kenya Seed Ltd, Prisons, Fresha Dairy Products, Chinese Pavilion and at the famous dairy cows famers section. Last but not least we also had Mr. Parmain ole Narikae, the Managing Director of Kenya Industrial Estates visited the KWFT stand and addressed the KWFT team present. He commended the Institution for the great work on social impact and congratulated KWFT for receiving an award.

With over 300 local/regional exhibitors and 120 international exhibitors from diverse industries, KWFT scored highly in various very competitive categories. After the meticulous judging exercises KWFT emerged the best as follows:

    1. Best Micro- Financial Institution Stand – Position 1
    2. Best Organization/ Association In Community Projects/Service Stand – Position 4
    3. Stand That Best Interprets Current Show Theme (Non-Agro based and financial industry) - Position 5

The NITF was a great success for the Institution as the team collected contacts for business conversion, opened accounts and live transactions were done.

The Kenya Farmers magazine (an internal ASK Publication) displayed a photo that had the President at the KWFT stand in Nyeri (which had trended in the presidents’ social media pages). The magazine has a wide readership across the country which is good for publicity.

KWFT also appeared in their marketing banners with a photo of The President visiting our stand during last year’s NITF.

This goes a long way in showcasing how our brand is well positioned and appreciated.
