Kenya Women Microfinance Bank in partnership with Kenya Women Holding made history on 4th August 2016 when it unveiled its first epic documentary on the untold story of our great Institution which has transformed the lives of thousands of women in Kenya for the last thirty four years.
The event was held at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi and was graced by more than 200 guests from various financial institutions, insurance firms, development partners, as well as staff representation from head office, zones office and the regions. We were also honored to have the presence of our esteemed clients who were featured in the documentary, namely: Grace Tuva Kitsa, Mercy Wangui Wamai, Helimilisa Nyanchama Nyakundi, Tecla Jebotip Samoei and Gladys Wairimu Mwangi.
The documentary highlighted KWFT’s transformation from humble beginnings, starting as a small microfinance institution in the early 1980’s with 2 offices in Karatina & Kilifi and evolving into the leading and the largest robust Microfinance Bank we are today. It also featured the five clients who shared their personal experiences on their remarkable journey as KWFT beneficiaries over the years. They all spoke passionately of how KWFT has helped them achieve their goals and objectives. It was even more fulfilling to see the clients’ spouses affirming the Institution’s role in their success stories.
During the event the proud clients overwhelmingly appreciated the fact that they are now bankable and beacons of hope to their families.
KWFT is proud of the great milestones and social impact it has made in the country through various innovative initiatives that address the holistic needs of women and their families. KWFT appreciates all clients and partners for their continued support and remains committed to pursue its great mandate to achieve full financial inclusion.
