HONGERA TEAM PWANI ZONE

 The Mombasa International Trade Fair 2019 was a great success. The event took place from 4th to 8th September, 2019 at the A.S.K Jomo Kenyatta Showground – Mkomani.

The Trade Fair was officially opened by the President and Patron of the Agricultural Society Kenya H.E Hon Uhuru Kenyatta who was also accompanied by other key Government Officials, among them was the Mombasa County Governor H.E Hassan Ali Joho.

KWFT was delighted to host the Taita Taveta County Executive Committee (CEC) Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation Mr. Davis Mwangoma. He commended the Institution for the exceptional work that KWFT is doing in impacting lives.

The event attracted more than 190 exhibitors including agricultural and livestock farmers, ministries, parastatals, financial institutions, institutions of higher learning, telecommunication companies, manufacturers and motor vehicle companies. In addition the trade fair attracted over 5000 show goers both adults and children.

The Agricultural Society identifies the great need to adopt modern technologies and innovations in agriculture and trade as reflected in the current show theme; “Promoting    Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade”.

KWFT is proud to have participated in the competitive judging exercise, which saw the Institution perform exceptionally in the following categories:

  • Best Microfinance Institution Stand – Position 1
  • Best Stand in Community Service – Position 2
  • Best stand in Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building – Position 13

As always, not only did the KWFT stand standout, but it also attracted thousands of people who visited the stand to learn more about various products and services as well as to see the interesting demo items on display, they included a demo farm with a vertical and hanging garden, chicken cage, swimming pool accessories, solar products such as a water pump, 4 bulb, a solar tv and a tuk tuk.

KWFT appreciates everyone who visited the Institutions’ stand and remains committed to empowering farmers to embrace modern farming technologies to foster food security as well as to improve the economy.
